It’s Thanksgiving week—a time when the world pauses to count its blessings, gather around tables, and reflect on gratitude. But let’s be real, sometimes life feels far from picture-perfect, even in a season that’s supposed to be all about giving thanks.
Life can feel heavy, can't it?
The weight of it all—grief, transitions, and those memories that hit a little harder during the holidays—can make it feel like we’re carrying the world on our shoulders.
Maybe it’s the pain of losing someone you love or the ache of walking away from a chapter you thought would last forever. Life keeps moving, but your heart? It’s still trying to catch up.
I’ve been there.
Here’s what that looked like for me:
Losing close family members—grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins
Letting go of a career path I thought was my calling
Saying goodbye to a marriage I believed was forever
Facing the unhealthy traits in myself I didn’t want to see
Drifting apart from friends I thought would always be by my side
Battling negative thoughts and limiting beliefs that held me back
It’s a lot, isn’t it? But even in the midst of all that loss and change, I’ve discovered something beautiful.
Gratitude.
It doesn’t erase the pain, but it changes how I see it. In my darkest moments, when I’ve chosen to lean into gratitude intentionally, something inside me shifts. It’s as if gratitude whispers, “I know it’s hard, but look again—there’s still light here.”
Have you ever felt that too?
Gratitude reminds us that even in the brokenness, there’s beauty. Even in the heaviness, God’s hand is still moving.
Here’s what gratitude looks like for me today:
A happy, healthy family that fills my heart
A career that aligns with my purpose
A renewed mindset that helps me rise
A closer, more intimate relationship with God
A supportive sister circle reminding me I’m never alone
The joy of meeting incredible new people each day
It’s not about ignoring the pain or the problems. It’s about being positive and choosing to see the goodness that’s still present.
This Thanksgiving week, let me ask you:
✨ What’s one moment today that reminded you hope is still alive?✨ Who has been a quiet blessing in your life lately?✨ When has your strength shown up right when you needed it most?
Reflect on those questions. Sit with them. Write down your answers, and let yourself feel the healing that comes with gratitude.
Gratitude invites healing. It shifts our focus, lifts our spirits, and helps us see beauty blooming even in the chaos. Even when life is tough, you’re still standing. And that? That’s something to be grateful for.
I would love to hear from you. Head over to my social media, and share one thing you’re grateful for in the comments.
Let’s create a space to share God's light, love, and healing together this Thanksgiving week. Because in a world that feels heavy, gratitude can remind us that we’re never walking this journey alone. 💛
