Not only is it Thankful Thursday, it's also my birthday! 🎉 As I celebrate another year of life, I can't help but reflect on the journey so far. Each year brings new experiences, challenges, and lessons, all of which shape who I am today. I want to share some of these lessons with you, dear readers, as a way to celebrate the wisdom and resilience that come with age. And don't forget, there's a special reminder at the end of this post about our upcoming resilience workshop!

Like the song says, ‘As I look back over my life’, I see how God helped me make it over’. A few lessons I’ve learned:
Practice Gratitude Gratitude has a profound impact on our overall happiness and well-being. Taking time to appreciate the little things and acknowledge the positive aspects of my life has helped me maintain a positive outlook, even during challenging times.
Embrace Change Change is inevitable, and resisting it only makes life harder. I've learned to embrace change and see it as an opportunity for growth and new experiences. Whether it's a career shift, divorce, losing loved ones, moving to a new city, or personal transformations, accepting change has allowed me to adapt and thrive.
Value Relationships Love people where they are. The people in our lives—family, friends, mentors—are invaluable. They support us, challenge us, and share our joys and sorrows. Investing time and effort into nurturing these relationships has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my life. Remember to cherish and appreciate the people who matter most to you.
Practice Self-Compassion We are often our own harshest critics. Learning to be kind to myself, especially during times of failure or disappointment, has been crucial. Self-compassion allows us to acknowledge our imperfections without judgment and motivates us to improve and grow.
Stay Curious Curiosity keeps life interesting. It drives us to explore new ideas, learn new skills, and expand our horizons. Staying curious has helped me stay engaged with the world and continuously learn, which is essential for personal and professional growth.
Prioritize Health Our health is our most valuable asset. Taking care of my physical, mental, and emotional well-being has enabled me to lead a more balanced and fulfilling life. Regular exercise, a healthy diet, mindfulness practices, and seeking help when needed are key components of maintaining good health.
Resilience is Key Life is full of ups and downs. Building resilience has been crucial in navigating these fluctuations. Resilience isn't about avoiding difficulties but rather about bouncing back from them stronger and wiser.
Cultivate a Growth Mindset Adopting a growth mindset has allowed me to see challenges as opportunities to learn and improve. This perspective has been invaluable in both personal and professional settings.
Focus on What I Can Control My grandmother use to say spend the 1st 6 months of the year focusing on your business and the last 6 months staying out of others. Focusing on what I can control rather than worrying about what I can't has helped me manage stress and maintain a sense of agency over my life.
